It all began at a college party, where we were introduced by a mutual friend. From across the room, our eyes met. Josh, trying to be cool, immediately grabbed a guitar and played every song he knew, hoping to get Geraldine's attention. (It worked!) There was something captivating in her eyes and the way she carried herself. For him, it was love at first sight. For her, it was a guy playing a lot of guitar.
The night of the party wasn't the end, it was just the beginning. The very next day, a Facebook message popped up, and from there, our story truly started to unfold.
It was a classic case of opposites attract. Josh was ready to pull out all the stops, but Geraldine was different. She wasn't interested in grand gestures; she found joy in the simple things, hated seeing food go to waste, and was an incredibly smart, talented artist who shied away from the spotlight. She was grounded, thoughtful, and everything he didn't know he was looking for. Together, we found a balance that just worked.
After eight years of growing together, it was clear that this was forever. Josh, who had been secretly holding onto an engagement ring for months, devised what he thought was the perfect plan: a romantic proposal during a Cup of Joe campfire concert, right on the beach in La Union.
We arrived, excited for an amazing night, only to be greeted by total chaos. There was no concert, no campfire... just police cars and a crowd of people who, like us, had been scammed by a fake event organizer. Our perfect plan had gone completely south.
But Josh was determined. Nothing was going to stop him from proposing that day. He quickly booked us into a different resort, a beautiful spot still overlooking the ocean. As the sun began to set, he proved that no botched plan could ruin our moment. On the balcony of our hotel room overlooking the ocean, he got down on one knee and asked the most important question of our lives.
Through happy tears (and a little bit of laughter about the day's adventure), she said "yes!" It was a chaotic, imperfectly perfect day that reminded us: as long as we have each other, we can handle anything. It was a promise that no matter what life throws our way, we’d always be the ones to make each other better.
Who knew that a chance meeting at a party would lead us here? Now, with just a few months to go, we're diving headfirst into the beautiful chaos of wedding planning. It’s been a crazy journey, but it’s our journey.
We are so incredibly excited to celebrate the start of our forever with all of you—the family and friends who have supported us from the very beginning. Thank you for being a part of our story. We can't wait to see you!
